Ankr Integrates TON into Web3 API for Seamless DApp Development

Ankr, a leading Web3 infrastructure platform, has announced a significant integration with The Open Network (TON) blockchain. This development enables developers to create decentralized applications (DApps) specifically for Telegram’s massive user base, which is estimated to be around 950 million.

In a statement released on October 24, Ankr highlighted that this integration into its Web3 API services will simplify the development process by eliminating the need for node setup on the TON network. This means developers can save hours previously spent on building, calibrating, and troubleshooting nodes, allowing for a more efficient development cycle.

Among the popular DApps leveraging TON are Telegram Mini Apps, such as Hamster Kombat—a tap-to-earn game that has rapidly gained popularity, attracting over 300 million players in just a few months. These Mini Apps utilize TON’s blockchain infrastructure and are designed to function directly within the Telegram platform.

Through this integration, Ankr will provide remote procedure calls (RPCs) that allow developers to connect directly with the TON network. This facilitates essential tasks such as executing transactions, checking wallet balances, and retrieving ownership details. The TON RPC endpoints will be part of a globally distributed network of blockchain nodes, deployed through Ankr's Asphere technology, ensuring low-latency access for developers worldwide.

Chandler Song, co-founder and CEO of Ankr, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “As the messaging app is already so vital to our industry, we are eager to see innovative new functionalities emerge now that barriers to building have been removed.”

While the TON blockchain offers its own RPC services for DApp development, Ankr’s integration aims to streamline the process by alleviating the complexities associated with node management.

Additionally, the TON Foundation, which oversees the TON blockchain, has chosen Axelar’s Mobius Development Stack (MDS) to enhance connectivity across 68 networks. This stack enables developers to create DApps that can operate across multiple blockchains, eliminating the need for bridging solutions through an interoperability layer.

In a further boost to the TON ecosystem, the blockchain recently secured a strategic investment of $30 million from crypto exchange Bitget and Foresight Ventures. This funding is intended to accelerate the development of TON-based applications, with a particular focus on gaming titles like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin.

Overall, Ankr’s integration with TON marks a significant milestone in the evolution of decentralized applications, paving the way for innovative solutions within the Telegram ecosystem.
